Culturally Informed Responses to Grief and Loss (CIRGL)

A visual identity for healing-centered work.

Led by Dr. Leticia Villarreal Sosa of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, CIRGL equips school professionals to support grieving students through a culturally responsive lens.

My role was to design a visual identity that reflected the heart of the program — thoughtful, inclusive, and grounded in care.

The Challenge
Our Approach

I developed a brand identity that communicates compassion without feeling clinical — one that centers the lived experiences of students and the professionals who support them. The design needed to convey trust, warmth, and clarity. Through a careful balance of color, and layout, I built a system that reflects the heart of the CIRGL curriculum: grief comes in many forms.

This wasn’t just about making the program visually appealing — it was about building credibility and connection at first glance.
